Advanced Techniques of PPC Advertising
Today you are going to learn advanced techniques by using Google Adwords. I’m not going deeply on what Google Adwords is but rather I want to teach some advanced techniques that has generated me great results when using Adwords. I’m going to show you some of these techniques in this article but not all. If you want to learn all then wait for my secret eBook that I’m developing all the time. I don’t want to reveal anything about it but that it is about blogging. I promise that you will love that eBook because it covers lots of things about blogging, secret techniques and so on.
So let’s get into those techniques that I want to teach you. The first thing is that you need to know what kind of product you want to promote and also gather some basic information about it in order to know it better. Reason for knowing it better is that it will help you to brainstorm keywords that you will need for promotion. To do this you have two options.
- Visit sales page of product you want to promote (Difficult way)
- Use sales page domain in Adwords (Easy way)
Visit sales page of product you want to promote
For this you need to go to the sales page of product you want to promote. Read headline, bullet points and other important information because by using those you can construct keyword list that we are going to use. Write them down to notepad or to whatever software or note you are using. When you have wrote them down you will see some important keywords. At least you will see main keyword and related keywords to your product. Write them down to new file or to new note. Now we are done with this part. Let’s cover now the easier way.
Use sales page domain in Adwords
For this step we need our first tool which is Google Adwords Keyword Tool. If you don’t have account with Adwords, that’s okay. You can still do this step.
- Copy your product sales page website address.
- Go to Adwords Keyword Tool.
- Choose “Website content” option.
- Paste your sales page website address into URL field.
- Hit “Get Keyword Ideas”.
- Pick up keywords that has over 20K search volume in Global Monthly Search Volume column.
Hint: You can use Keyword Tool to gather all your desired keywords and format them into .csv format. This is Excel file.

Before we continue further I want to point out two things. First if you wondered that why to pick up keywords that has search volume in Global Monthly Search Volume column it is because they are recommended keywords that has enough search volume to be potential keywords that brings lots of traffic. Second thing that I want to point out is that Adwords Keyword Tool Search volume estimation is not as accurate as you might see. It can be lots of different than in results. It is said that it is estimation that might be higher or lower 10% than that search volume in keyword tool. But it is the best tool that we have at the moment which is also free.
First Technique – Using Main Keyword Right
Okay so now you have those keywords and it’s time to apply those techniques. First advanced technique is related to your ad headline and description field. For this pick up keyword that has high search volume, for example Make Money Online. Now we will take that keyword phrase and type it in your ad headline and also in your description. Reason for this is when someone searches that keyword in Google search engine and you have that keyword in your headline and in description it is bold in your ad. This means that your ad will be displayed 100% sure in first page’s right side, if you have enough high bid. This is very important part. It is ad optimization.

Now you will see that we have used our main keyword phrase in headline and in description. This will help lot your ad to be displayed. That’s the first technique.
Second Technique – Lowering Bid Cost
Now with this technique you can’t lower your bid something like 70% – 80% but instead something like 40% – 50% which is also quiet high. The secret of this technique is that you will high CTR (Click Through Rate). My best CTR has been over 60% believe me or not.
To do this we need Keyword Wrapper Tool which is luckily very useful, time saving and free tool. This tool is called Adwords Wrapper. You can get this tool from website called Mike’s Marketing Tools. For this we need our main keyword and only thing what we need to do is wrapping that keyword and paste it in our ads keyword list. If you are making only one ad then you can do this manually but this tool is very handy when you have like 10-2000 keywords that you want to wrap.
This tool is very simple to use. Copy your keyword(s) to box which has underneath it a button called “Wrap AdWords”. You have in the right side also some options but we are not going to cover them because they are quiet self explanatory. Paste your keyword there and hit Wrap AdWords. You will be directed to new page where you can choose your wrapped keywords. Copy and paste them into your Google ad keyword list.
When you have enough high CTR and your ad has had enough long history you will see how your bid cost will reduce something like 40% – 50%.
