How to find a good Clickbank product to promote?

We have found in many affiliate marketing forums that people are asking same question “How to find a good Clickbank product to promote?”. Probably there are lots of other people who want to know answer to this question too. So we decided to write this article to help anyone who is interested in promotion of Clicbank products.

Before we start to go more deeply into this subject we highly recommend to get known what Clickbank is by going to their website.

When we speak about finding a good product to promote from Clickbank it is not usually easy task. Reason for this is because you need to know certain things about that product. But what are those things? We have listed most important questions below to find answers for.

  • What kind of product you want to promote?
  • Does that product have high sale potential?
  • What is the current situation of the marketplace of that product?
  • Does vendor provide good resources for promotion?
  • Are there lots of affiliates that are promoting that product?
  • If there are lots of affiliates promoting that product how they are doing in their promotion and marketplace?
  • Does that marketplace have bright light in future or not?

Those kind of questions you should ask from yourself. You can write your answers to paper or to text editor and don’t feel silly because you write them down. Writing down things will help your thinking a lot.

Let’s cover each of those questions first and then we will explain Clickbank’s products points (i.e. $/sale, Future $, Total $/sale, %/sale, %refd, grav), what they mean and how to use them to find a good product to be sold. Those points will be found in Clickbank’s marketplace when you try to find some product you will see them. See image below.

What kind of product you want to promote?

First and most obvious thing is to know what kind of product you want to promote. If you don’t know what kind of product to promote here are some tips to help you to decide.

  1. In what field (category) you have most experience with? (Look at the Clickbank’s marketplace category list)
  2. In what kind of product you are interested of?
  3. Do you have some strength in some specific field?
  4. Do you have some skills related to that specific field?

After you have found an answer to that question it is time to dig more information about that product.

Does that product have high sale potential?

This is one of most important points to need answer for. How you can recognise one? Usually high sale potential product has following facts:

  • Good sale letter which has good graphics design
  • Sale letter has only promises and no lies! (very important point)
  • Has lots of information and practises to provide for customers
  • Price is affordable ($27, $47, $67, $77 or $97)
  • Author is very reliable and more preferably he/she should be known
  • Marketplace is not saturated
  • Has high demand

After you have found a product that fulfils above facts you will know that product has high sale potential. Remember that high demand product is usually product that solves people problem.

What is the current situation of the marketplace of that product?

Current situation of the marketplace needs little bit research in order to find the answer. Good way to start is from Forums. In Forums you can ask from people about their needs this will give you clue about what kind of product is currently in demand.

Another good way to find marketplace situation is to use Google Labs tool called Google Trends.

  1. Go to google.com
  2. In up section you will see “more” link, click it
  3. Menu will pop up, go to last choice where it says “even more”
  4. Find “Labs” button and go there
  5. In Labs section find Google Trends tool

How you can use it in order to find current situation of marketplace? Let’s say that you have weight loss product. So there just type “weight loss” in “Search Trends” field and you will see under “Regions” section in which region most high demand about that product is. Don’t write product name in “Search Trends” field but instead write only main keyword that is related to that product.

Another good way to find indications of demand of product in marketplace is to use Clickbank’s information about specific products i.e. $/sale, Future $, Total $/sale, %/sale, %refd, grav. They are explained in final section in this article.

Does Vendor provide good resources for promotion?

When you have found a product that you want to promote and found that it is in big demand next step is to look at the product itself and what kind of resources vendor provides for their affiliate to promote that product with.

The more resources vendor provides better and easier your situation will be when promoting that product. All kind of banners, keywords, ppc ads examples, promotion tips, etc. are very useful. This will show also that how much vendor cares about helping affiliates and own product.

Use all resources that are available but remember that when you use those resources you will compete with other affiliates that are promoting same product using same resources.

Are there lots of affiliates promoting that product?

To find an answer to this question you have at least two ways to find it out. First one is simply to ask from vendor what is current situation of affiliates that he/she has and how many. Another way to find it out is to use Clickbank’s product information point called %red and grav.. More information about it is explained in the end of this article.

If there are lots of affiliates promoting that product how they are doing in their promotion and marketplace?

Only way to find an answer to this question is to ask it from Vendor. Also remember to ask that how much your top affiliate is earning and how much sales has been done in highest sale day. This would give you good clue about current affiliate situation and how well they are doing.

You need also to remember that if the top affiliate is earning or making that much sales a day or month it doesn’t mean that all affiliates are doing similar amount of money and sales.

Does that marketplace have bright light in future or not?

Finding a product that is doing very well in future marketplace is goldmine. As far as we have been in affiliate marketing we have never found better product than “Fat Loss 4 Idiots”. Believe or not but they have made over 21 million dollars in past years selling this product and still it sells. This is a product that we call as “big goldmine” which has bright light in marketplace in future and nowadays.

Usually all kind of products that have high demand will “live” most.

Clickbank product information points

Now it’s time to cover Clickbank product information points and how to use them to find a good product to promote. So we will going to cover following things of Clickbank marketplace.

  • $/sale
  • Future $
  • Total $/sale
  • %/sale
  • %refd
  • grav.

$/Sale – This is quiet self explanatory and it means that how much affiliate earns per sale.

Future $ – If that specific product has monthly fee, for example membership or subscription it is indicate here how much it is.

Total $/Sale – This is the total amount of $/Sale and Future $ in dollars.

%/Sale – Per cent from product price that affiliate will earn.

% Refd – How many per cent affiliates have done sales from total sales of that product.

Gravity – This tells how many affiliates have made sales in past 8 weeks.

Now it’s time to know how to use those points in order to find good product to promote.

First of all $/Sale, good amount of commission that affiliate would have is something between $37 and $97. Reason for this is if you want to promote a product that pays less than $37 you don’t have enough money to promote that product unless you have promotional website that has been optimized. For $97 it is amount that customer would be ready to pay for product. Products that cost more are more difficult to get sale of and we don’t say that customers would be ready to pay for them too.

If you find Future $ product it is like a goldmine. This will ease your promotion process because you will earn more commission. Try to find a product that has Future $ it would be easier to promote if it doesn’t have high Future $.

Higher per cent of %/Sale the better it would be for affiliate. However don’t promote products that pay less than 50%. Because you do promotional work and you bring traffic to vendor so at least you have earned at least 50% of that product price. Also it is not small work.

Try to find in % Refd as high number as you can because this will support you as an affiliate and raise your trust to promote that product. If you know that there are lots of successful affiliates you have also good chances. Remember that there are affiliates that you are competing with.

Same goes with Gravity. Higher number you find that product has the better chances you have to success to get sales.
