Affiliate Marketing is an Internet-based marketing practice where affiliate i.e. product recommender is rewarded for every visitor that buys a product under him/her. Buying is not only action that visitor can make. Other methods are signing up to some specific program but client/visitor must pay in order to get the product.
Most reward cases are revenue i.e. earning money.
Affiliate Marketing consists from three parties:
- Vendor (product owner)
- Affiliate (product recommender)
- Client/visitor (product buyer)
Each party will gain good benefit from this cycle. Vendor and affiliate will earn revenue and client/visitor will have their product. Revenue is usually money and when it is money, vendor will define how much is ready to pay for affiliate for every time affiliate gets client/visitor to buy under him/her.
Products can be in different form. Most affiliate marketing products are in electronic form and that’s why sometimes is used term eProduct (electronic product). Good example of eProduct that is much known is called eBook which means electronic book. Other products can be in physical form. For example game console, fitness machine or toy.
In order to find an affiliate product i.e. product that you can recommend for other clients/visitors can be found in so called affiliate networks or companies. Affiliate networks are networks where vendor and affiliate meet together. Most known affiliate networks are Clickbank, Paydotcom and Commission Junction.
Affiliating process will begin when an affiliate find a product to promote from affiliate network or company. Once it is found, affiliate will request affiliate link for that specific product. After getting an affiliate link affiliate is ready to promote that specific product.
There are lots of different promotion methods available nowadays. Most affiliates uses PPC (Pay-Per-Click) – and email advertising.
Affiliate Marketing is suitable for anyone. It doesn’t matter how old you are, who you are or where you live. Good thing about affiliate marketing is that you can practise it at home and in any part of the world. If you success in affiliate marketing it is going to be hugely rewarding.
